Run of games has given Scott belief to get back to his best

-

Scott Sinclair insists there’s still more to come from him after rediscovering the form that had gone AWOL for Celtic.

The winger has roared back to his best with eight goals in his last seven games, echoing his Player of the Year firstseason peak at the Hoops.

He says the confidence that comes from playing week in, week out after his secondseason struggles has finally given him the belief to get back on the front foot against defenders.

The 29-year-old said: “It couldn’t have come at a better time. I can’t really put my finger on exactly what the difference is but the main thing is the run of games and getting my confidence and form back.

“When you are in and out it’s quite hard to pick up form but I’m in now so it’s up to me to keep performing and scoring. There’s always more to come but I’m in a good place now.

“I’m scoring, I’m creating and I’m back to being positive when I get the ball.

“With the qualities I have everyone expects me to dribble past four or five defenders every time I get the ball but I have to mix it up because people are doubling up.

“Now instead of playing simple, you get on the front foot and make things happen.”

Sinclair admits his selflessness cost him more goals in midweek after trying to set Oli Burke up for a hat-trick against St Mirren. He said: “That just goes to show how we are as a team - and Oli getting a hat-trick in his second game would have been great. “Maybe I should have shot with that one though! “Oli and Timo Weah have hit the ground running. Any player going to a new team you want to do what they’re doing, score goals and come in and be on fire right away. “You can see Oli is big, strong and gets in behind. Tim is great with his touch, comes short and turns and is very quick. “It’s great we have competition to keep everyone on their toes.”
