MAY SHIELDS BREXIT DEAL IMPACT
Theresa May has refused to publish an official economic analysis of her Brexit deal.
The Prime Minister has admitted in a letter to SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford that briefing papers on her EU withdrawal plans exist.
But she would only say that the analysis showed her deal was “the best in terms of delivering on the referendum result, maintaining people’s jobs and enhancing the economy”.
Blackford said May must hand over the full information to MPs so they can make an “We have therefore decided to terminate our agreement. “The Government is already in advanced talks with a number of companies to secure additional freight capacity, including through the port of Ramsgate in the event of a no-deal Brexit.” Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn originally raised t he mat t er of t he informed choice when they vote on the deal.
He added: “Theresa May has confirmed UK Government analysis of her Brexit deal exists – now we must see it.
“It’s the height of irresponsibility for the Prime Minister to bring her deal to Parliament without providing the analysis of its impact.
“It’s ludicrous for MPs to be asked to vote on a deal while completely blind to the economic consequences. The Prime Minister must end this shroud of secrecy and come clean with MPs and the country.”
