I changed his nappies, so why shouldn’t I shave my Anton’s bum? It’s least I can do for him

Parents hope son finds girl who is a perfect fit

- Heather Greenaway

Like any mum, Sherie Ann Danyluk watched her son Anton’s entrance into the world of reality TV with a small amount of excitement and a lot of trepidation.

But the 55-year- old was probably the least f lustered of all of Love Island’s millions of viewers when Anton revealed that she regularly shaves his bum.

The 24- year- old lef t his fel low contestants open-mouthed when he told them about the unusual maternal assistance to his personal grooming regime.

But Sherie Ann said: “It’s something I do every couple of weeks and it’s no big deal in our house. At the end of the day, I used to change his nappies so shaving his bum is nothing.

“What’s the difference in that and taking a bit of hair away from his backside? We are really close and it’s the least I can do for him.”

Gym owner Anton, who still lives with his parents on their 30- acre estate in Blackridge, West Lothian, is the first Scottish man to appear on the hit reality show and has gone from zero to hero in a matter of weeks.

In the VT released before he went into the villa, the handsome Scot claimed he was a Jack-the-lad who had cheated on all his girlfriends and would do the same on the show.

His cocky entry speech, coupled with photos of him blacked up as The A-Team’s Mr T at a party in 2013, saw him trolled by viewers, with many calling for him to be thrown off the programme. Butt in the past few weeks, Anton’ss straight-talking has prompted a publicic U-turn, with fans backing him to win,n, even if he isn’t in a couple by the end..

His mum, who has run thee MacCorns Popcorn business withh her husband Michael, 54, for more than 20 years, is not surprised at everyone’s change of heart.

Sherie Ann said: “Anton has gone from public enemy No1 to the sweetheart of the villa and his dad and I are so proud of him. I’m so glad people have got to see my boy in a true light.

“I can understand why his VT gave folk the wrong impression to begin with but Anton is very honest and the first to put his hand up if he has cheated.

“I don’t think people are used to someone who is so blatantly truthful about these types of things.

“H i s compa s s ionat e behaviour towards the othersers has shown what a caring guy he is. He is beautiful inside and out.”

Since going into the villa, Antonn – a former naked butler – has been coupledpled up four times but each of the girls has had their head turned by someone else.

Sherie Ann admits at first she couldd not bear to see her son on TV.

She said: “In the beginning, whenn he was getting rejected, I couldn’t bringring myself to watch. My heart rate on

my Fitbit wentwe from 76 to 131. I wowould hide in the other room and make mmy husband calcalll me in when everything everyt was fine aand Anton was havingh fun. “I uused to stay away awa from it as I wawas getting too eemotionally ddrainedrai but, now ththat I see he is stanstanding his ground aand people are startstarting to see him for who he is, I look forward to tthe show.” She addedadded: “We are a close family. WWe all live and work on ourou 30- acre ranch and, althoughalthou Anton has his own chalet on site, we meet up for breakfast every day and spend a lot of time ttogether. “It breaks my heart not hhaving him around. He is our only childchild. “His dad is Italian and I’m hahalf-Burmese and we wanted a big family. It just didn’t happen, which makes me ssad, but we struck gold with Anton. “When hehegotgot the call from LLove Island, he asked me if he should go. AsA much as I love him, I know I can’t keep him with me forever and thought it waswa time for him to have a change. I told hhim to have some fun and I’d look after his business.” Things are looking up for the fitness trainer – who is coupled up withw surfer Lucie Donlan, 21 – as five of the six girls who entered Casa Amor on Friday night claim to have their eyes set on him.

Sherie Ann is hoping one of them will be exactly what her son is looking for but admits she will have to be pretty special to get her seal of approval.

She said: “There is no one in the villa at the minute who I would pair with Anton. He definitely hasn’t met the one but maybe one of the new Casa Amor girls might take his breath away. I do hope so.

“Everyone he has set his heart on so far, like Molly Mae, Arabella and even Elma, has gone away and said they liked someone else. I hate seeing him getting rejected over and over.

“I had tears running down my face when Arabella went off with Danny and he wished them well.”

If Anton does find love, his mum hopes he will refrain from having sex in the villa.

She said: “I think Anton is conscious he is a role model, especially for all the kids he trains. But you don’t know what might happen in the moment if things got carried away. I have total trust that he knows his morals and principles.”

Sherie Ann got Anton into exercising at14 after he started to pile on the pounds.

She said: “In our house, we are always cooking. By the time he was 13, he was chubby. I decided to get him into fitness.

“Anton took a big interest in weights and has been doing that for 10 years. He is the hardest-working person I know and his clients all get results.

“Even if he doesn’t find love on the island or doesn’t get to the end, he will always be my star.”
