Dan will get fans on feet
Ryan Giggs reckons £15million man Daniel James will be the latest in a long list of wingers idolised by Manchester United fans.
The 21- year- old became Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ s first summer signing when he joined from Swansea – and legend Giggs says he’s a perfect fit.
The Wales manager also has James in his squad and insists he will excite supporters, adding: “United fans love watching wingers.
“Daniel will get the supporters off their feet without a shadow of a doubt. He has that ability to go past people at pace and United fans want to see that.
“When he’s running at pace then it’s a fantastic sight for fans and a nightmare for defenders.
“He’s certainly quicker than me now and is quicker than I was at the same age, definitely. The fans are going to love him.”
Welsh ace James has to live up to some of the game’s great wing men in Giggs, George Best, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrei Kanchelskis and Lee Sharpe.
Only two seasons ago, James was farmed out to Shrewsbury on loan but former Swans manager Graham Potter worked hard improve his crossing and finishing ability and harness his blistering pace.
Giggs said: “He’s a good, level-headed lad, comes from a good background and wants to focus on his football and work hard to succeed.
“He’s also at a club that looks after players.
“They’re not going through the best of times but I still think it’s the best club for him now.
“He’s a fabulous talent and will just get better and better.”
