It’s dunk or stunk for kids

Vincent Lavandier has told his Glasgow Rocks rookies today’s BBL Trophy tie is their chance to shine.

The Rocks are expected to demolish non- league select Wales at the Emirates to bag a quarter-final berth.

But Lavandier intends to throw Glasgow’s kids in for the first-round showdown.

He said: “It’s a useful game after the New Year break and an opportunity to give the younger players some extended time on the court, which we want to take.

“Kieran Allen’s had a few games here and there and has been a good surprise. Alex Geddes has also made progress and we’re trying to stop him putting too much pressure on himself.

“And although Callum Mortimer hasn’t been able to practise with us too much, we see a lot of potential.

“We will try to put them in the game beside some of the experienced guys and see how they fare.”
