Sunday Mail (UK) - - John Niven -

The wife of the late celebrity medium Derek Acorah is “in shock” – but says she’s already talking to him from beyond the grave.

Heartbroken Gwen said she was blindsided by her husband’s sudden death, days af ter they were planning his 70th birthday.

The 71- year- old said: “Derek believed life goes on in another dimension. There’s an element of comfort in that because it’s not a big blank wall and he’s gone.

“I keep thinking, ‘ I must pick up the phone and tell Derek.’ I actually do tell him. I talk to him. People may think I’m mad. I’ve nagged him all his life so why shouldn’t I continue?”

Gwen revealed how she held her husband’s hand in hospital after he was admitted on New Year’s Day with f lu- like symptoms, certain he would be OK.

But 48 hours later he had died from sepsis after a severe bout of pneumonia, leaving her bereft.

Gwen, who married Derek in 1995, added: “We never discussed one of us dying. Derek had never gave any indication that he thought the time was nigh. He was fine. I’m still in shock.

“He felt vital and strong, like he always had done. I told him he was going to pull through. But it wasn’t to be.”

Liverpool- born Derek rose to fame in the 90s when he did psychic readings live on ITV. The spi r itual medium was best known for his TV work on Most Haunted from 2002 to 2010.
