BLAKE-AWAY!

- Thriving hurdler to extend Kirby’s magnificent run

The Yorkshire handler has his horses in cracking fettle and the gelding has a blinding chance in the handicap chase just up the road from his yard at Sedgefield.

Kirby has a fascinating angle into the contest. Twelve months ago, his representative Nicely Indeed won this event and he is back for more this year.

Nicely Indeed is near the top of the weights but his entry made sure that impressive recent course winner Bertie could get in today off just 10 stone.

The horse has been clubbed a stone but could still be on a decent mark. There’s no reason why Nicely Indeed won’t go well again. If you’re feeling adventurous, they might be a big forecast.

Another one near the bottom of the weights is OSCAR WILDE (1.30) for in-form Sue Smith. The gelding offered glimpses of a return to form when second at Market Rasen and the six-year-old has a chance to go one better in the handicap chase.

PREMIUMACCESS (4.20) can open his account at the second time of asking at Fontwell.

Colin Tizzard’s charge arrived from Ireland with a very smart reputation and ran well for a long way on his UK debut in a decent looking race at Newbury.

Today’s event around these twists and turns looks more attainable and Jonjo O’Neill Jnr has been booked for the ride.

There’s some superb action at Naas where STORMY IRELAND (1.40) will surely shoot off in front and not be caught in the Grade 3 Limestone Lad Hurdle.

THE BIG GETAWAY (2.40) should be winning the maiden hurdle while RONALD PUMP (2.10) can turn over hot favourite Carefully Selected in the Grade 3 Novice Chase.
