CELEBRITY HAIRDRESSER CONVICTED OF ASSAULT

Celebrity hairdresser Claudio Carnovale, 56, was convicted of assault and obstructing a police officer at the family home in the west end of London last August.
Italian-born Carnovale was sentenced to an 18-month community order and told to do 100 hours unpaid work.
He was also banned from having direct contact with Caroline, 54, and from going to the home they shared.
A Victim Personal Statement ( VPS), supplied by Caroline, was read to the court when Carnovale appeared. A VPS gives a victim the opportunity to explain how a crime has affected them and their family.
The couple met in Rome in the 90s and have a grown-up son and daughter together.
Carnova le first appeared at Hendon Magistrates Court last month to plead guilty to obstructing police. He was found guilty of the assault after a trial.
He was sentenced on February 13.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokesman said: ”Carnovale was sentenced to an 18- month community order with an unpaid work requirement of 100 hours.
He was also banned from contacting the victim apart from via solicitors and from going to the home address.”
Carnovale’s clients have included Kylie Minogue and Katie Price.
Between 1994 and 1999, Kirkcaldy-born Caroline played Ruth Fowler in the BBC1 soap set in Albert Square.
She also appeared in River City in 2004 as Patricia CCullen. In 2008, she starred in Coronation Street as Detective Detectiv Constable Weller, investigating investig an attack by David PlattPl on his mother.
Carol ine helped set up theatre group Raindog with Robert Carlyle in 1990. Membe Memb r s included Trainspotting Trains star Kevin McKidd McKid and Gavin Mitchell from fromS Still Game.
She has also had success as a ddirector, and won a Scottish Scott Bafta in 2000 for BBC Scotland’s clubbing drama dram Tinsel Town.
