Lampard teaches mentor a lesson

- Chelsea........................2 Spurs.............................1

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea lsea mole couldn’t save him from f suffering another defeat at the hands of apprentice Frank Lampard.

The Spurs boss caused a storm in the build-up to his latest Stamford Bridge return by hinting he had inside info on Lampard’s tactics.

But whatever he learned didn’t have an impact as goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso fired the Blues to a massive three points.

A late own goal from Antonio Rudiger gave Tottenham brief hope of a comeback but the Blues held on.

Lampard has now faced his old gaffer three times as a boss with Derby and Chelsea – and has won every showdown. But the former England star, who was raging when Leeds gaffer Marcelo Bielsa spied on his Rams side last season, was relaxed about any leaks from his Blues camp.

He said: “I’m not being sinister about it but that’s the world we live in. I’m not that trusting in all ways.”

Instead of taking a pop at Mourinho he blasted the VAR team for failing to punish Giovani Lo Celso for a stamp on Cesar Azpilicueta.

The officials later admitted they had bungled by not recommending a red and it’s the second game in a row Chelsea have suffered after Man United star Harry Maguire also got away with a kick at Michy Batshuayi.

L amp a r d said: “It’s just not good enough. Saying that they made a mistake is not good enough.

“They had a c oupl e of minutes to try to get it r ight . The whole world saw that. I hate to stand here and call for a red card but that is a leg breaker.”

Mourinho tried to backtrack on talk of a Chelsea mole and said: “I guessed – because there is a logic to it. So nobody l e a k e d me anything. They are loyal to him (Lampard).”
