King hits out over pulped memoir
Stephen King has said a decision to pulp Woody Allen’s memoir over historic sex abuse allegations has made him “very uneasy”.
The horror writer said the move by publisher Hachette was censorship.
He tweeted: “I don’t give a damn about Mr Allen. It’s who gets muzzled next that worries me.
“If you think he’s a paedophile, don’t buy the book. Don’t go to his movies.”
Film director and actor Allen has always strongly denied sexually abusing his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow when she was seven.
Hachette, which acted after dozens of staff staged a walkout in protest of the planned book, said: “We do not cancel books lightly.”
