P-P-Pick up explorer relic

-

A stuffed penguin brought back to Britain following Captain Scott’s doomed expedition of Antarctica has emerged for sale for £ 3000.

The taxidermy Adelie penguin is a relic of the ill-fated Terra Nova voyage that took place between 1910 and 1913.

The expedition’s doctor Edward Leicester Atkinson gifted it to Royal Navy surgeon James Porter.

Porter’s great- grandson is now selling the 18.5in-tall unique bird.
