Grant’s Abbi to deliver
Scotland’s women kept up their perfect Pinatar Cup record as Abbi Grant pounced to sink Iceland.
Shelley Kerr’s side built on their 3- 0 win over Ukraine as Birmingham star Grant curled home the winner in the second half.
She was thrilled to mark her international bow with a goal in Spain and said: “It was my first start for Scotland so to get a goal was the icing on the cake.
“I just saw the chance open up for me and thought I would have a go.
“To score for Scotland was a special feeling.”
Grant could have broken the deadlock earlier but passed up a good chance after being played in by Caroline Weir.
Northern Ireland are up next on Thursday and she said: “I feel like the first chance I had was probably the easiest but I was happy to hit the net in the end.
“It’s been an enjoyable week. Everyone is getting a great opportunity. I’m loving being back with the girls and we’re all wanting to end the camp on a high.”
