A Dyer warning for Killie

- ■ Liam Bryce

Frustrated Alex Dyer blasted wasteful Killie as their top-six hopes were dented by a late Accies spot-kick.

The Rugby Park men created the bulk of chances before an 89th- minute Marios Ogkmpoe penalty cemented a fifth league clash without a win.

Defeat leaves Dyer’s side down in eighth and he was left fuming as Hamilton snatched the points just minutes after being reduced to 10 men.

The Killie boss said: “We created a lot of chances but if you are not clinical you get punished. And we were, it’s as simple as that.

“I’m really disappointed we came away emptyhanded. I just can’t take much from the game. We were unprofessional when they went down to 10 men.

“We were gung-ho and just switched off at key moments. I am bitterly disappointed as we should have taken three points not just one.

“In hindsight it’d be easy to say: ‘ Yeah we’ll take a point.’ But the game was there for us to win it.”

Stuart Findlay was the Kilmarnock sinner as he felled Ogkmpoe in the area with seconds to play.

But Dyer insists the game should long have been over.

He added: “I didn’t really see the penalty at the time and when I watched it again on video I didn’t get a clear view.

“However, it should never have come down to that.”
