Olympian James Cracknell blames himself for the end of his marriage after a near-fatal bike accident in 2010.

The 47-year-old rower suffered a fractured skull after being hit by a truck in the US. He split from TV presenter Beverley Turner, the mother of his three children, last year. James said: “A lot of marriages end. If I learnt anything from mine, it’s that you can rely on someone too much.

“I was not prepared to admit to the people I was close to that I was really struggling… it put too big a burden on my marriage.”
