We’ll swot up on Bruno so he doesn’t swat us aside

-

John Stones last night warned United new boy Bruno Fernandes that City have done their homework on him to make sure he isn’t an instant hit in the Manchester derby.

The Portugal midfielder has made an immediate impact for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since his £47million January signing from Sporting Lisbon.

Fernandes scored for the third game in a row to earn a point at Everton last weekend and will look to make it four when City arrive at Old Trafford this afternoon.

But England defender

Stones, 25, insists that won’t be easy for him.

He said: “I have not watched too much of him but I know he is another threat and we’ll do our homework on him over the next few days.”

City have won four of the last five derbies at their rival’s ground and Stones admits his team-mates thrive there.

He said: “You still get nerves from such an occasion but you have to play with no fear.

“It is a derby that’s always feisty and brings the best out of you but it’s a game we know we can win.”
