Who gives a **** now who wins the title? No one cares. Some of the social media bickering is ridiculous and crazy. It all means nothing to people who get sick or those like me who’ve lost their jobs and income in the real world

Hart’s main priority with most of the country in self-isolation mode.

With two elderly parents, one of whom has respiratory problems, his sole focus is on ensuring they stay safe from the virus.

And it was the issues with his close family that made any online football arguments completely irrelevant.

He said: “I’m still at home with my parents but my mum and dad both work as nurses.

“My dad’s 66 and works in a care home because he has to for money. I was hoping to be able to tell him to stop working and I’d have looked after him.

“But I’m not in a position to do that now. He’s now in a vulnerable predicament.

“My mum has severe asthma so neither of them will be able to work.

“The situation is crazy. And what has really annoyed me is seeing people going on about whether Celtic or Rangers get to be champions.

“Really, who gives a f*** now? No one cares about that.

“Some of the bickering is ridiculous. I made a comment on Twitter about it but I’m a bit embarrassed now because there are a lot of people worse off than me.

“My first thought last week was whether I could get a job on the NHS

111 helpline. If not, I’ll probably volunteer in a care home or hospital just to try to help out.

“But I need to look after my parents first and foremost.

“Mum and dad are OK at the moment, they’re just worried like everyone else.”

Hart began his career at Celtic and was a highly-rated Scotland youth player.

Since being released by the

Parkhead club in 2015, he’s had spells at Annan, Ayr, Queen’s Park and now the Methil men.

But whatever happens after the current outbreak, he accepts that he might need to quit football and concentrate on a full-time job.

He said: “I haven’t been at clubs where I’ve been able to pile up a stash of money. So I might need to leave football behind when this is all over.

“When I finished university last year it was on my mind – I realised life is more important than football.

“You barely know when a season is going to start now and there’s so much uncertainty with contracts for players down the leagues.

“If I got a job that would look after me, I would drop football in a minute. And that would break my heart.

“But if you spoke to most boys at this level, they’d do the same.

“I love the game but there’s just no long-term security, especially after everything that’s happened with this virus.”
