Football star fears wife will hate his book
Pop star Amy Macdonald won’t read her husband Richard Foster’s new book in case it’s “rubbish”.
The Mr Rock and Roll singer is married to the Ross County defender, who has written a crime novel in his spare time.
Richard, 34, is now penning a second book but revealed Amy, 32, won’t look at his work because she is afraid she won’t like it. The defender, who married Amy in Las Vegas in 2018, has said she will be the last to read it because she would give the most honest feedback.
He said: “Even if it’s an absolute pile of rubbish, I don’t care.
“I’ve got no illusions of getting it published or anything like that.
“It was just a hobby that I really enjoyed doing and it was just a little achievement.
“So much so now that I’m on to another one and I’m looking to develop that.
“My wife’s too afraid to read it in case it’s rubbish and she has to tell me. I listen to podcasts – one with author James Patterson on writing a book.
“He says you need to give it to people you know are going to be honest because if you have any aspirations to get it published, it’s a harsh world.
“So out of everyone, my wife will probably be the last to read it. She’ll probably be the most honest.”
Richard is also studying for a degree in psychology as he prepares for life after football.
Amy, from Bishopbr iggs, near Glasgow, has released four studio albums and a greatest hits compilation since her chart breakthrough in 2007.
She has sold more than 12million records worldwide.
