Mothers bond over deaths of their sons
PC Andrew Harper’s heartbroken mum Deborah has struck up a close bond with the mother of Harry Dunn.
The pair, whose sons died just 12 days apart last August, speak daily and are helping each other to cope.
Harry’s mum Charlotte has inspired Deborah to fight for justice for Andrew.
The Dunns’ spokesman Radd Sieger, who has also been helping Deborah, said: “They message each other daily and they’ve both found support from each other, which is a great thing.
“Both are going through a similar experience and I think, inevitably in life, you do tend to seek out people who are going through similar experiences to you.
“They saw that there were connections between the two cases and they’ve struck up a really good relationship.”
Andrew, 28, d ied on August 15 when he was dragged for a mile while trying to stop Albert Bowers, Henry Long and Jessie Cole get away in a car in Berkshire.
Harry, 19, was killed on August 29 when his motorbike was in collision with a car driven by Anne Sacoolas near RAF Croughton, N o r t h a mpt o n s h i r e . American Sacoolas left the UK, claiming diplomatic immunity and has still not been brought before a court.
Seiger said of Deborah and Charlotte: “They are both heroes in my view because if this had happened to me I’m not sure I could even get out of bed, so for both of them to have carried themselves with such strength and d ignity, I think they’re both incredible people.”
