PROF WAS KEY TO ALLAN DEAL
Brazilian star Allan revealed the chance to work again with the manager he calls The Professor convinced him to join Everton.
The midf ielder has completed his £ 25million move from Serie A Napoli to Goodison Park on a threeyear deal.
The 29-year- old jumped at the move after Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti raided his former club.
A llan, a combat ive defensive presence who has played for his country nine times, admitted the opportunity to link up again with Ancelotti was an offer he just couldn’t refuse.
He said: “It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton and I am immensely happy to be here.
“I hope, like I have done in my entire career, that I can contribute with my performances together with
my team-mates and that I put in some great games, great performances and win important things.
“This is a club with a rich history in the Premier League, has real ambition – and then there is Professor Ancelotti.
“He has done everything possible to bring me here.
“It is the size of the club and the name of the coach which means you don’t think twice about coming to Everton.”
Al lan is a player with Ch a mpion s L e a g u e experience with Napoli.
He also helped Brazil to win the Copa America in 2019 and promised to bring a winning menta l i t y to Everton.
Allan, who will wear the No.6 shirt for the Goodison side, added: “A strong part of my game is marking and the desire going in to win absolutely every ball.
“I believe with my desire I can put in really good performances to win the fans over and I hope to win things as well.
“And there will be a tremendous amount of dedication from me, a lot of dedication – a lot.
“I received a lot of messages from Everton fans and that made me really happy and confident in the work I can do here.”
