Tiger King plea to UK over jail pardon
Tiger killer Joe Exotic wants Brits to “rally” US president Donald Trump to help him get a pardon for his murder plot conviction.
Exotic, 57, subject of the Tiger King Netf l ix documentary, is serving 222 years in jail for attemptingg to have his big cat rivalal Carole Baskin killed.
He tried to hire a hitmann to murder her after shee exposed him for keeping hiss tigers in squalid conditions.s. He also shot six of thee animals dead to make wayy for new ones.
Now he is claiming he hass the support of Trump’s son,n, Donald Jr – who joked earlierr this year he could lobby forr the animal abuser’s release.e.
Exotic also begs to bee freed so he can bring hiss husband Dillon Passage, 24,4, to meet UK fans.
In letters from jail, Exoticc wrote: “Thank you for thee love and support. I think thee producers knew this was a set-up and they all used me to get rich. Sad. So please know I send my love and tell the UK I love you all.
“Dillon wants me to take him and visit you all so please ask everyone there to rally on Trump’s Twitter and Facebook to listen to his son Don Jr and pardon me for Dillon’s birthday… Be my hero. Love you, Joe Exotic.”
His legal team reportedly flew to Washington DC this week to deliver a request for a pardon to the White House.
The president was asked in April if he had considered pardoning Exotic. He said he would “take a look” but added he had not seen the documentary.
French police used tear gas yesterday as protesters from the yellow vest movement returned to the streets of Toulouse and Paris after demos were dampened by the pandemic.
Protesters got into a stand-off with police in Toulouse, while officers in Paris used tear gas to disperse demonstrators who left a designated route and set fire to waste bins and a car.
Police said they had made 154 arrests by 1pm.
