Underworld sources say £30k bounty offered for revenge

The flat is the registered home of a 28-year-old businessma­n who has gone to ground since Sadiq was murdered.

It is feared his death will lead to a wave of tit-for-tat attacks between rival gangs. The thug was at the centre of a drugs feud before he was killed.

A source said: “Sadiq’s friends know who’s responsibl­e for his death.

“They’ve offered £ 30,000 to anyone who can lead them to him. The fire was started out of frustratio­n because they’ve not been able to find him. They’re also looking for people they think helped the guy get away. They’ve gone into hiding too.”

Police have said they are following a “positive line of inquiry” in the investigat­ion which is being treated as murder.

Shahid, his brother Zeeshan Shahid and Faisal Mushtaq, who were all sentenced to life in November 2006 after being found guilty of killing Kriss Donald, 15.

They drove terrified Kriss around Scotland for hours before stabbing him, pouring petrol over him and setting him on fire while he was still alive.

Dad Sadiq was linked to a knife attack on a witness involved in the case in 2008. He was caged for five years in 2009 for trying to ram a rival off the road while pointing a firearm at the car.

Police Scotland said: “Around 9.50pm on Thursday, September 17, police received reports of a wilful fireraisin­g at a property on Leven Street in Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguish­ed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
