ISLE OF MONE
Bra tycoon switches wedding plan
It clearly got to the stage where she just couldn’t wait any longer to walk down the aisle with her billionaire finace.
Entrepreneur Michelle Mone yesterday announced she was going to scrap her wedding plans for a fourth time and instead tie the knot with business man Doug Barrowman on the Isle of Man.
Bra tycoon Mone revealed the couple will eventually get hitched on the self-governing island within days. They decided to press on with their plans to get married after
England was placed on a month-long lockdown which will last until December.
Ultimo founder Mone originally planned a ceremony at the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft in the Palace of Westminster followed by a lavish champagne reception for friends and family.
But Tory peer Mone was forced
to cancel the big day, originally scheduled for May, after the Covid-19 outbreak.
She vowed the new date would result in an even bigger bash claiming “at the end of all this we are going to need a bloody party”.
However with no end of the cornovirus pandemic in sight, the couple, who live on the Isle of Man, will now exchange vows in front of a handful of guests while other loved ones watch on Zoom.
All arrivals on the Isle of Man must self-isolate for two weeks. Those caught breaking the rules have been handed pr ison sentences.
Glasgow- born Mone, 48, yesterday said on Twitter: “Like all of you, I was absolutely gutted to hear the news of another national lockdown.
“Doug and I have decided to go ahead with the ceremony on the incredible Isle of Man, where there are no restrictions.
“But because the border is closed, it means our families and some of our best friends won’t be able to attend in person. Zoom it is then.”
