AIMEE IS HUNGARY FOR ONE LAST ROAR IN FINAL

-

Aimee Willmott says London Roar can make all the right noises when the International Swimming League ends in Budapest tonight.

The Stirling Uni star (left) was fifth in the 400 metres freestyle on day one of the Final and her side go into the second day in third place, 67.5 points behind leaders Cali Condors with champions Energy Standard Paris sitting in second.

Willmott said: “We’ve got some big swims in the bag for the team.

“I’ve got my main event so we’ve got to fight for every point. If we do that and come up short, we can’t ask

for anything else . It’s been great to be a part of a team with so many phenomenal swimmers.”

Middle- distance star Chris O’Hare is in a race against time for the Tokyo Olympics after he had to undergo hip surgery.

O’Hara, who turns 30 tomorrow, has revealed he was coping with major problems in recent months and hopes going under the knife in

Colorado will get him back on track in time for next summer.

The Scot said: “It became impossible to run so a trip to Vail was necessary to get me fixed up.

“It’s going to be a tough road back but for those who know me well, you’ll know that this won’t keep me down.”

Gareth Murray wants Glasgow Rocks to land a one-two punch on Cheshire today and book a spot in the last eight of the BBL Cup.

After demolishing Phoenix by 30 points seven days ago, the Scots head south knowing their rivals will still be short-handed due to positive Covid tests.

Murray said: “We didn’t have any pre-season so it was a real change of pace and we’ll need to be a lot more proactive.”
