Stu: Red won it, France? You’re..

England sprint king Jonny May lit up Twickenham with a stunning try.

Eddie Jones’ men outpaced then outmuscled Ireland to earn a fourth straight win over them.

May’s 90m score, his second touchdown in four golden minutes, was the highlight and he said: “It was 100 per cent instinct.

“I don’t have enough time to think about it when it is like that off quick turnover ball.

“There are just so many feelings and emotions when you score a try for your country. It is a great feeling. It is awesome scoring tries for England.”

Owen Farrell kicked two penalties and a conversion while Jacob Stockdale replied late on for Ireland.

Coach Jones said: “We dominated the game.

We’d have liked to have a clean sheet, but we are improving.”

Stuart Hogg says Scotland are right in the mood to floor France at Murrayfield today to lay to rest the whinging after they beat them in the Six Nations back in March.

The Scotland skipper is hacked off about Les Bleus blaming that 28-17 loss on the red card for prop Mohamed Haouas after he threw a punch at Jamie Ritchie just before half-time.

Hogg believes the French are at it with those complaints because they were already on the ropes.

He said: “France are arguably one of the best sides in the world and came to BT Murrayfield in March with three wins from three. “They were high on confidence, they were playing some very good rugby – but we shut them down.

“I’ve read a fair bit this week where all they’re talking about is how the red card changed the game.

“But have you ever seen a French team rattled like that before?

“That happened because we fronted up, got in their faces and then got stuck into them. I don’t think they’d ever come across anything like that so we’ll be doing the same.

“That’s what we’re about. We need to have that hunger and desire to go after teams. We know that we’ll be disciplined and, hopefully, they’re not.

“We want to be tough to beat and to fight for absolutely everything that we can. We want people to be getting off the deck and smashing lumps out of guys, going time after time after time. Teams will break down eventually.

“If we continue to go after them, they’ll get bored and kick us the ball.

“That’s what we want. Any time France kick, we’ll see that as a little victory because they no longer want to attack.”

If Scotland’s up-and-at-them style sees France take the law into their own hands – as Haouas tried to do with Ritchie just over eight months ago – then Hogg says his team won’t take a backward step.

He added: “We are tight as a group so if anything like that happens again, we’ll be in to back up our mates.”

Gregor Townsend’s men go into their final Autumn Nations Cup pool match on a high, looking to win six games on the bounce for the first time since 1990.

But skipper Hogg knows they will face a big step up in class from triumphs over Georgia, Wales and Italy when they tackle the in-form French.

He said: “France are an unbelievable team and they’ve got some world- class individual players.

“But what better chance is there to be the best defensive team than to play against a France team who have been putting 30 points past teams. That’s a challenge and we’ll meet fire with fire.”

A win would see Scotland top Group B and go into the Nations Cup showpiece for the trophy in two weeks’ time.

Hogg said: “We are aware of what’s potentially on the line but we’re focusing on the first 20 minutes of this game.

“We can’t look too far ahead or we’ll slip up. We can’t wait until 60 or 70 minutes to try to get ourselves into the game. We need to be there from minute one.”
