CALLUM HAS DOUBLE TROUBLE

- Gordon Parks

Callum Davidson admits St Johnstone face a sweat over Murray Davidson and Craig Conway after both needed hospital treatment.

Davidson and Conway were taken to Perth Royal Infirmary to leave the Saints gaffer worried.

Davidson had to be stretchered off after damaging his shoulder while Conway suffered a broken nose.

The Perth boss said: “Murray is away to hospital so we will just have to wait and see how he is. He’s going to get some checks because he fell awkwardly.

“We can’t say much more at the moment because he’s getting assessed, we have taken precautions and we’ll just have to wait.

“Craig has broken his nose as well, it’s one of those. You get one injury and another one comes along. His nose was zigzagged, so we’ll just have to see how they both are in the next few days.”

Davidson also believes the clash with Well was a missed opportunity to climb above the Steelmen after a result which leaves them in eighth spot.

He said: “I thought we started the game well, we got up the pitch but let ourselves down with the decision making. We had chances but conceded from a counter-attack.

“Once we got back into it with the penalty, we probably didn’t have enough in the final third to get the win.

“The positive sign for me is that this is a game we probably would have lost earlier in the season.

“The last time we played Motherwell they took the lead early and we couldn’t get ourselves back into it. “Showing a bit more quality in the final third is important for us because we get into good areas but didn’t make it count.”
