India captain Virat Kohli vowed his shell- shocked side would bounce back from being skittled for just 36 – their lowest total ever.

Australia won the first Test by eight wickets after India recorded their lowest Test total in 65 years.

Kohli, who will miss the three remaining Tests as he’s returning home for the birth of his first child, said: “The team is going to bounce back strong.

“A few of the guys are going to realise their true characters and how they can step up for the team.”

The tourists’ total in Adelaide was the lowest by any Test side this century. Glasgow Rocks playercoac­h Gareth Murray admits his sideline stints may need to be scaled back.
