It’s a sore one but I’ve no ill-feeling to club or chairman

ROSS COUNTY.................... HAMILTON..........................

- ALASDAIR FRASER AT GLOBAL ENERGY STADIUM

Stuart Kettlewell would have loved the chance to battle on as Ross County boss – but insisted there were no hard feelings after his quickfire post-match sacking.

The head coach paid the price for another poor day in front of goal as the Dingwall club’s chairman Roy MacGregor wielded the axe.

There were boos from the small crowd at time up as Kettlewell suffered his 12th defeat this season after just 24 games in sole charge.

He then revealed: “I have been relieved of my duties. That is the situation.

“Everybody knows I’ve got a brilliant relationship with the chairman, with the football club and everybody here – the cleaners, k it woman, groundsman, everybody.

“It’s a sore one, of course it is. I want to fight, scrap and do the best I possibly can for the football club. I have done that for a long time.

“We find ourselves bottom of the table and cut adrift a bit off the back of this result.

“I understand footbal l. There is no ill-feeling from me towards the football club or to the chairman.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity. There have been a lot of high points, of course there have, but that’s for speaking about another day.”

Hamilton picked County off

with goals from Ross Callachan and Scott Martin in either half .

Boss Brian Rice said: “It’s a fantastic result and I thought a really good performance, a strong performance, typical Hamilton. It was a Hamiltonlike display and I asked for that before the game.

“Let’s get back to being ugly, aggressive, in their faces and let’s get a clean sheet.

“We did all of those things and scored two really good goals. We knew we had to defend the box really well and we all did that.”
