We’ll be Bran new this time
Brandon Haunstrup scored the goal that got Killie back into their play- off tie – but was still RAGING with his own performance.
The Engl ish ful l- back insists Tommy Wright’s men didn’t turn up at Dens Park for their first-leg defeat to Dundee on Thursday night.
And he insists they’ll need a vastly improved display in the second-leg at Rugby Park tomorrow to retain their top-flight status.
Haunstrup’s late goal on Tayside made it 2-1 and left the tie in the balance.
And although he has been at the club less than a year, after meeting supporters every day he knows exactly what’s at stake.
He said: “We didn’t turn up in Dundee and I’ve no idea why. It was a tough night for all the boys.
“We barely created anything. But we at least showed a bit of character to come back.
“The goal has given us a chance and it’s there for us now to go and win.
“My goal could affect Dundee – it depends what they’re made of. But I’m just focusing on us.
“I have expectations for myself and standards. A lot of stuff on Thursday night just wasn’t good enough. Did we maybe see the best of Dundee in the first game? Well, I’m not going to take that for granted and the rest of the boys won’t either.
“We have to focus on our own game and concentrate on producing a bet ter performance.
“It comes dow n to mentality now.
“Even though we’re a goal down, it’s a one-off game so we have to come out with a bang at Rugby Park.
“We know what to do to get the job done and we all believe we can do it.
“Even in the short time I’ve been at the club, I know what’s at stake for us.
“Where I live, there are a few fans around so I know just how much the c lub means to people in the area. It’s a privilege for me to be pa r t of th is club.”
