NEW SHOW FOLLOWS HOST THE
Heather Greenaway Petrolhead turned farmer Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he is thinking of adding a herd of hairy Highland coos to his 1000-acre smallholding in the Cotswolds.
The former Top Gear host, who took over the running of Diddly Squat farm last year despite knowing nothing about farming, believes the iconic Scottish breed would be an “a-moo-sing” addition.
Jeremy, 61, whose hilarious exploits are featured in new Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, said he would welcome having a little bit of Scotland down on his Chipping Norton farm.
The Grand Tour presenter, who has a love-hate relationship with his 80 sheep after one of them kicked him in the privates, said: “I was told before I started all this not to get sheep and I ignored the advice and I seriously wish I hadn’t. They cost so much money, they are constant ly trying to escape and the vet bills are huge. I have developed a deepseated hatred towards them.
“So now I’ve been thinking maybe some cows and why not some Highland coos? I’ve started doing a little bit more listening rather than just charging in when it comes to livestock but Highlands are an option. Watch this space.”
The series, which starts on June
11, follows an intense, backbreaking and frequently funny year in the life of Jeremy and his team as they contend with the worst farming weather in decades, disobedient animals, unresponsive crops and an unexpected pandemic.
Helped only by his girlfriend Lisa Hogan, 47, and a gaggle of agricultural associates, Clarkson quickly discovers that a modern farmer must be conservationist, scientist, shepherd, shopkeeper, midwi fe, engineer, accountant and tractor driver, often at the same time.
Despite the calamities that ensue, Jeremy admits this is most definitely not “The Grand Tour goes farming”.
