Lady Delphi, a Scots super-duper model in the making

Society beauty tipped to be big hit on catwalk

- Jenny Morrison

Society beauty Delphi Primrose has been tipped by Tatler magazine to become Scotland’s next aristocratic supermodel.

Delphi, 17, the granddaughter of the Earl of Rosebery, appears on the front cover of this month’s Tatler posing for pictures at her family’s ancestral home Dalmeny House, on the edge of Edinburgh. Tatler said of her: “Delphi Primrose is a Scottish society beauty, TikTok phenomenon and supermodel in the making.” Delphi, who is a triplet and one of five children, was signed by modell ing agency Storm after being scouted during her school holidays.

She grew up living between London and on the Rosebery Estate, next to Dalmeny House, which overlooks the Firth of Forth, by South Queensferry. Her father, Lord Harry Dalmeny, is the chairman of auction house Sotheby’s. Her mother, Lady Carol ine Dalmeny, lives in Earlston, in the Borders, after her parents split up seven years ago. Delphi says nothing is more important to her than her family, including her older sister Marina, 18, younger brother, Caspian, 15, and triplet sisters Tolly and Celeste. Delphi said: “I was born with two best friends. Tolly would kill for me, Celeste would die for me. “While it was sad with mum and dad getting divorced, ultimately it’s made us as a sibling group real ly close, rel iant on each other and resilient to the outside world.” Delphi, who is studying for her A-levels and hopes one day to become an architect, has a huge following on TikTok, where her films have amassed more than 7.4million views.

everything from her hair to days out with family and friends.

She said: “I had a couple of videos that just blew up. Everyone can find something entertaining on there.”

Delphi is pictured in the Tatler photoshoot t modelling designer clothing, including a £14,000 dress by Dior, a £ 3875 cape by Saint nt Laurent By Anthony Vaccarello and £ 850 50 tartan trousers by Caroline Andrew.

Her mum told the magazine that, despite ite the family’s privileged background, Delphi phi and her siblings weren’t always ays surrounded by wealth – and even bathed in river water ter poured into the sink on family mily holidays.

She said: “We had an old cottage in the Borders, way, way, way up in the hills, only really ally accessible when the weather her was good.

“It was beautiful but really ll basic with no hot water. It had one of these 19th-century sinks, which were wedge shaped and as deep as they were wide.

“We had a tea urn that we plugged in for the hot water and would mix it with a bucket of cold water from the burn and then the children would just fit vertically into these very deep sinks.

“You’d put them in and scrub them and get them out and the soap was all peat-coloured and orangey.”

Scotland has a history of females from aristocratic backgrounds becoming supermodels. Stella Tennant, who

died last year, was the granddaughter of the Duke of Devonshire. She became the face of Chanel and appeared in campaigns for brands including Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen and Burberry.

Other Scottish models with aristocratic backgrounds include Lady Jean Campbel l , 24, the daughter of the Earl of Cawdor; Lady Mary Chateris, 30, the daughter of the 13th Earl of Wemyss and 9th Earl of March; and Lola Cr ightonStuart, 21, the daughter of the late 7th Marquess of Bute.
