Doting dad Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a picture of himself holding his newborn daughter less than two weeks after her twin brother tragically passed away.
The black-and-white photo was featured on his Instagram account yesterday captioned “Forever Love”. Within an hour, four million fans had liked the picture of the topless player cradling his little girl, dressed in just a nappy and woolly hat.
The Manchester United ace and his partner Georgina Rodriguez revealed the heartbreaking news their son had died at birth on April 18 but their daughter survived. The 37- year- old Por tuguese international told his fans on social media: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.
“It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to l ive this moment with some hope and happiness.
“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
The player missed Manchester United’s match against Liverpool, where fans of both teams held a minute’s applause for him, singing You’ll Never Walk Alone.
The following day the devastated couple returned home with their as yet unnamed little girl. He then returned to the team last weekend, dedicating a goal to his lost son by pointing to heaven after he scored.
Ronaldo and Spanish partner Georgina share four other children. His eldest child Cristiano Jr, 11, and twins Eva and Mateo, four, are from unknown surrogates, while the couple’s daughter Alana, three, was Georgina’s first baby.
