It’s a Stair way to heaven for Dees in battle of the Blues

Dundee maintained their winning start to the season with a 3- 0 victory at Stranraer in Group H.

Cammy Kerr headed the visitors ahead just before half-time at Stair Park, with Paul McGowan then lashing home in 72 minutes before Luke McCowan curled home a third seven minutes from time.

Hamilton recorded back-to-back wins with a straight forward 3- 0 success at Forfar. Matthew Shiels registered his third goal in two games when he opened the scoring just before the break, with Andy Ryan and Andy Winter both on target in the second half for John Rankin’s men.

Aidan Smith and Tommy Goss each grabbed a brace as Annan ran out 4-0 winners at home to Elgin City, with the Galabank side moving three points ahead at the top of Group F.

Goalkeeper Blair Currie saved twice in a shootout as 10-man Stirling Albion beat Raith Rovers 5- 4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Aidan Connolly fired Rovers ahead before Kieran Moore levelled just before half time. Stirling’s Jordan McGregor then saw red late on, with Currie denying Quinn Coulson and Scott Brown in the shootout.

Conor Sammon grabbed a hat-trick as Alloa came from a goal down to win 4-1 at Buckie Thistle.

The hosts opened the scoring with Sam Urquhart’s penalty before the Wasps hit back as Sammon pounced and Brad Rodden headed in.

Sammon then landed the match ball with two late goals.

Two strikes inside the final nine minutes helped Albion Rovers to a 2- 0 win at Kelty Hearts.

Ayrton Sonkur fired in after 81 minutes with Charl ie Rei l ly doubling their lead from the penalty spot four minutes later.

Dumbarton got their first win of the season after winning 2- 0 at Peterhead.

The Sons went ahead through Finlay Gray, and things went from bad to worse for decimated Peterhead – who were only able to name two subs – when Paul Dixon saw red just before half time.

Gregor Buchanan crashed in a header from Gregg Wylde’s cross to double Dumbarton’s lead.

A debut goal from Will Sewell and second-half strikes from Craig Bryson and Matty Yates gave Stenhousem­uir a 3- 0 win at home to Fraserburg­h.
