We’ll halt Gers Ted in tracks

- Scott McDermott

Teddy Te Teuma says Union St- St Gi lloise are ready to silence si Ibrox and make history hi by dumping Rangers out ou of the Champions League Le this week.

The Maltese midfielder was w instrumental in the Belgians’ Be 2-0 first-leg victory last las week.

And Teuma insists they can ca handle the Glasgow atmosphere at on Tuesday night ni to finish the job and qualify for the play- offs.

The 28-year- old believes the tie should already be dead but admits if they can see off Gio van Bronckhorst’s side it will be one of Union’s biggest results ever.

Teuma said: “We were superior to Rangers in the first match.

“In my opinion, a score of 3- 0 would have been more just for us.

“The match in Glasgow will be different because they’re obliged to attack.

“But Union are prepared for the battle.

“We’re not going there just to defend our 2- 0.

“Mentally, we have put pressure on them by winning in Belgium – and that is key.

“We know Rangers have more European experience than us, they were Europa League finalists last season.

“But we don’t feel inferior to them. It won’t be easy for them to score three goals against us.

“We respect them because they’re a big club. But we’ll be calm and play with patience in Scotland.

“For us, the atmosphere in the stadium is not a problem. We’re not nervous – in fact, this gives us extra motivation.

“If we score first on Thursday night, Rangers will have a lot of problems.

“Our f irst dream was fulfilled by qualifying for the Champions League. The second dream was to beat Rangers at home.

“But now is the key moment – because we’re 90 minutes away from making history.”
