TIME TO BE STREET-WISE

Fast filly’s hot stuff in Weld Park

- Joe Punter

Caroline Street (3.40) can put punters on the path to profit in the Weld Park Stakes at The Curragh.

Joseph O’Brien’s charge has been running over a mile and started off with a nice win at Leopardstown before failing in Group 3 company at this track.

The juvenile returned to the Foxrock venue to run a belter behind Auguste Rodin in a Group 2 and, once again, just didn’t have much left at the finish.

However, today’s drop back to seven furlongs looks ideal and Caroline Street can get the job done down in grade.

ART POWER (3.05) absolutely bolted up in last year’s

Rena i s s ance

Stakes and she has clearly been tuned-up to repeat the trick.

Tim Easterby’s five-year- old returned from almost a year off to run a couple of nice build-up races to lead into this event.

Art Power arguably faces a stronger field than a year ago but that’s not going to stop another win if firing on all cylinders.

The Irish Cesarewitch is the biggest punting race of the day and you could make a case for most of them in the marathon. The value, though, might lie in

Dermot Weld’s AZALLYA (4.15) who has a very interesting profile.

Weld has taken his time with this one and she stayed-on very strongly for second in a 1m 4f Listed event at Galway last time.

Crucially, Weld has hit peak form and Azallya is definitely worth a few each-way pennies.

TRIBAL WISDOM (4.30) looks the smart choice on his handicap debut at Epsom.

Charlie Appleby’s youngster has made steady headway in novice company this term and an opening mark of 85 doesn’t look overly punishing.

BLUE COLLAR LAD (4.39) (4.39) has been thriving recently so he can score for Arran’s finest

Nicola Currie at Yarmouth. The three-year old was only raised two pounds by the assessor for a game win at Epsom recently.

Blue Collar Lad only just lasted home over seven furlongs that day and this drop back to six should be far more suitable.

SPORTING ICON (3.15) is the best bet on the card at Ffos Las for the excellent Andrew Balding.
