£10m blow for crocked Cat Stewart
Ross Stewart looks set to miss the rest of the season after being carried off last night as Sunderland and Fulham drew 1-1 to force a replay.
A sixth-minute strike from Jack Clarke gave the Black Cats the lead before Scotland striker Stewart went down with an Achilles injury.
The 26-year-old, who has already missed fourth months of the season with a thigh injury, couldn’t continue and it’s now shattered a proposed £10million move to Bournemouth or Brighton this week.
Former Scotland man Tom Cairney hit back for the Cottagers before 15-year-old Christopher Rigg had the ball in the net in the 90th minute.
But the Sunderland kid’s goal was rightly ruled out for offside to ensure a replay at the Stadium of Light.

Tony Mowbray said: “It does look like it is an Achilles injury for Ross.
“They’re long injuries, it’s devastating. The scan will reveal the full extent, hopefully it isn’t as bad as we think.”
