What’s the wisest advice you’ve received?
Plan for life after football. Football’s an unbelievable experience, but it will come to an end and there will still be bills to pay and your family, so it’s very important that you have one eye on life after football. lesson you learned doing your UEFA A coaching licence? Being disciplined and using your time wisely. What’s the most important part of your role?
Making sure that when a player’s journey in the academy ends, their experience has been a positive one – and they’ve developed not just as footballers but, more importantly, as young human beings.
What gives you the most job satisfaction?
A young player making their firstteam debut.
What’s been your career highlight? Being involved in numerous cup finals and championship run-ins.
