Dancer reveals disasters that led to exit from show
Dancing On Ice pro Mark Hanretty said a series of disasters led to him and celeb partner Carley Stenson being booted off the show.
Mark, 37, from Erskine, Renfrewshire, told how he and the Hollyoaks actress were plagued by sickness and injuries ahead of their shock exit.
He said: “We had a hellish week in the lead-up to the quarter-finals. We didn’t start training unti l the Friday – two days before – as I came down with a sickness bug.
“At the end of our first dayy of training, we were trying a new trick and had a fall. I tried to save Carley and ended up banging my head really hard on the ice and she dislocated her shoulder.
“Then, on the morning of the show, Carley’s shoulder popped out of the socket again and the same thing happened during the actual show. It was disaster after disaster but we both persevered.
“Carley was in lots of pain but she soldiered on. I’m so proud of her for having the guts to keep going despite being in agony. I’m just sad our journey is over.”

Social media has also gone crazy so they obviously saw us in the final too. “I’m gutted we didn’t get to do our semifinal dance as it was to a Pink song and was dedicated to Carley’s daughter.” Mark, who is off to Japan in a few weeks to commentate on the World Figure Skating Championships, added: “I’ll just have to try again next year.”
