JAGS boss Kris Doolan slammed the late penalty decision that denied Partick victory.

Dunfermline striker Chris Kane won the award then slotted home the spotkick to cancel out Brian Graham’s first-half opener.

But Doolan was upset with ref Calum Scott and felt there had been little contact between the striker and Aaron Muirhead.

He said: “I’ve seen the penalty back and it’s very soft – it’s bordering on not being a penalty at all. “Kane’s run across Aaron, there’s a coming together and he goes down.

“I don’t even know if there was contact but even if there was, its not always a penalty. “But every point’s a prisoner in this league.

“We could’ve been 3-0 up at half-time but that’s us another point towards where we want to be.”

Both sides were in form and coming off the back of three successive victories.

There was a lively start when Kane’s close-range header was saved by Jags keeper David Mitchell.

Partick, with the strong wind behind them, were well on top in the first half.

Graham and Aidan Fitzpatrick both saw goalbound efforts blocked on the line by Pars defenders.

But Graham put Thistle in front with a deflected shot in 24 minutes, fo l lowing up Scott Robinson’s initial effort.

Dunfermline rallied in the second half and Matty Todd struck the post before Kane’s disputed penalty with 11 minutes left.

In the dying moments Kane struck the woodwork and boss James McPake said: “I’m proud of the players. I challenged them at half- time to perform better and we deserved all three points.”
