Clarkson’s new love on romance and how they survived disasters
JEREMY Clarkson’s new girlfriend has spoken publicly of their relationship for the first time, beaming: “I’m very happy.”
Lisa Hogan, the Irish ex-wife of a millionaire playboy known as Baron Bonkers, gushed about her life with the former Top Gear presenter, 56, and said: “He’s really great.”
She spoke to the Sunday Mirror as the couple attended their first showbiz bash together. Last month we exclusively revealed their relationship and told how Jeremy had taken Lisa, 46, on a romantic holiday to Barbados.
One thing the couple have in common is surviving accidents.
Lisa walked away from the wreck when a private jet she was travelling in crashed on a dual carriageway near RAF Northolt, West London, in 1996.
The mum of three, who had a small role in the John Cleese film Fierce Creatures, famously said after the terrifying incident: “I’m going to be late for my rehearsals.”
When asked about it, Lisa said how The Grand Tour star Jeremy had endured more crashes than her.
She said: “It gives me shivers thinking about it. I’ve had one crash but he’s had three.
“Although I walked out on to a road of traffic. Who does that?”
Smitten Jeremy and Lisa attended the Roundhouse Trust auction on Thursday. The event was organised for the second time by Sally Wood, wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie. Jeremy introduced Lisa as his “girlfriend” at the bash in Camden, North London, and sources say they are “inseparable”.
One said: “Jeremy is completely besotted with Lisa, they have been together non-stop.
“It’s getting quite serious.”
Jeremy – dropped from Top Gear in 2015 for punching a producer – introduced one of the auction lots and blasted the BBC, as well as boss Lord Tony Hall, who was in the audience.
He said: “I know the Director General is sitting over there now, s ****** g himself. But don’t worry, Tony, this is fine. “I was sacked. As a result of that I’ve done really very well for myself because I’m now at Amazon. So this place really does turn your life around.”
He then turned to Lord Hall and said: “You lose.”
Jeremy helped raise £750,000 for the trust and was joined by stars including Rolling Stone Ronnie and The Who’s Roger Daltrey. Lisa could be seen clapping and cheering when Jeremy took to the stage.
She split from eccentric aristocrat Steven Bentinck in 2005.
The 6ft 2in Dubliner was “discovered” by John Cleese in the early 1990s as she struggled to set up a clothes business.
He employed her as a researcher before giving her a small role in Fierce Creatures, his follow-up to A Fish Called Wanda. Jeremy divorced his wife of 21 years, Frances, in 2014.
