ENGLAND’S young Lions hold the Under-17 World Cup aloft after coming back from 2-0 down to beat Spain 5-2 in the final.
The win in Kolkata, India, signals a bright future for the seniors, according to Gary Lineker.
He wrote on Twitter: “We have a new Golden generation. Well played boys, well played.”
And England’s all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney added: “Yessss!!! Congratulations to all involved. Been class throughout.”
Goals from Morgan Gibbs White, Marc Guehi and Rhian Brewster, plus two from player of the tournament Phil Foden, sealed the famous victory.
England also won the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea in June.
