MTV’s Ex on the Beach is getting a revamp for 2018 in a bid to salvage ratings.

I can reveal the next batch of contestants will be flown to Mexico in March for six weeks – and they’re planning on having LGBT couples too.

Other changes include bringing back original casting agent Jake Court to help find “high-quality” contestants, and taking the show to 10 episodes. The ratings dropped last season to 525,000 from 805,000 the year before, while ITV2’s Love Island averaged 1.7 million – up 700,000 on 2016.

A show source tells me: “They made a mistake trying to compete with Love Island. So, they’re going to try airing it around May instead.
