AN AJER POWER AT CELTS

-

Shamrock Rovers 0 Celtic 7

KRISTOFFER AJER reckons Celtic’s French Connection up front might be magnifique to watch but they will be terrible to play against.

Record signing Odsonne Edouard and his Parisian pal Moussa Dembele have spent pre-season working on a partnership and Brendan Rodgers let the pair loose in Dublin yesterday as the Hoops stuck seven past Shamrock Rovers.

Dembele started the rout before Edouard grabbed a cool double but their link up play thrilled the travelling punters – and will strike fear in to Alashkert who await in Armenia on Tuesday.

The Parkhead men kick off their Champions League qualifying campaign and Ajer believes the front duo might just fire Celts all the way to the group stages for the third year on the spin.

The Norwegian defender said: “It’s exciting to seem them. They are looking fantastic. Moussa and Odsonne scored some goals today and it was great to see.

“The pair are doing really well together in training and in the games, they are doing a brilliant job.”

Dembele and Edouard starred – as did Callum McGregor who also notched a double while new signing Lewis Morgan got in on the act with a brilliant solo goal.

Rodgers’ line-up was a heavy hint towards Tuesday’s side for Tuesday’s Alashkert clash.
