Escaped paedo’s bid to grab pupil inside primary school
A PAEDOPHILE who escaped an open prison got into a school and put his arm round a girl’s neck saying: “I’ll just take this child”, a court heard.
John Harris, 36, was jailed by a judge who described him as “every parent’s worst nightmare”.
Harris had absconded from
Leyhill Prison in Tortworth, Gloucs, without staff even noticing and walked to a primary
ABSCONDED Evil John Harris school, where he knocked on the door of a class and tried to kidnap a pupil.
The school locked doors and turned lights out, with kids hiding under desks. Harris roamed the playground peering into windows until police arrived. He was jailed for seven and a half years at Bristol Crown Court after admitting a string of offences.
The court heard he had previously brandished a knife in a children’s hospital saying he
wanted to snatch a patient.
