Ex fears Mel B will not find love again
AN ex-lover of Mel B believes her destructive marriage to Stephen Belafonte means she will never find love again.
Playgirl model Danny Lopes, 36, had a whirlwind romance with Mel and fears the star can no longer trust people. He said the 43-year-old Spice Girl’s bitter break up “has left her unable to trust anyone fully and let them into her heart.
“Mel will go so far, and then pull back emotionally – and that happened with me. It breaks my heart because Mel has so much to offer as a partner. She told me she loved me, I told her the same, but while physically we were a natural fit, she just pulled away from taking things further.
“She has just become so paranoid and has a massive trust issue with people, especially with me.”
The singer dumped him after a relationship earlier this year.
But Danny, who also has a successful art career and worked with director Dante Tomaselli on The Doll and Horror, also recalls lighter moments in their relationship. On one occasion Mel’s pet goat Phyllis walked in on them as they were having sex.
He said: “It was hilarious like she was giving us her seal of approval. It was so weird but we just laid there laughing.”
