RONNIE McFALL’S GLENTORAN battled out a 2-2 draw in a controversial game against
CRUSADERS at the Oval.
Stephen Baxter’s Crues finished the game with only nine men, having had Kyle Owens and Rory Patterson sent off by visiting Latvian referee Andros Treimanis.
Glentoran lost John McGuigan to a red card.
Paul Heatley shot the Crues into the lead before John Herron levelled.
Patterson helped restore the visiting team’s lead with a classy finish before Robbie McDaid levelled things up.
“It was the worst refereeing display ever witnessed in 30 year in football,” said Crues boss Stephen Baxter. “I blame the IFA for organising the exchange programmes.”
Joe Gormley and Rory Donnelly helped themselves to two goals apiece in CLIFTONVILLE’S 5-1 win over DUNGANNON SWIFTS at Solitude.
