MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to splash out £70million on Jordan Pickford – a world record for a goalkeeper – if they lose David de Gea.

De Gea is discussing a new deal at Old Trafford, but wants about £350,000 a week to commit to the club long-term and turn down a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spain star (left), hailed as the world’s best keeper, is demanding any new contract pays him the same as Reds top earner Alexis Sanchez.

But United are already plotting how they can lure England No.1 Pickford from Everton, should De Gea exit next summer.

The package would eclipse the £66.8m Liverpool paid Roma for Brazil’s Alisson.

Pickford, a £30m buy from Sunderland last year, signed a new, six-year deal with Everton in September.
