Holly and Harry the real jungle winners

- BY MARK JEFFERIES IN THE AUSTRALIAN JUNGLE

I’M A Celebrity has never exactly been a serious show.

But with so much gloom in Parliament and real life back in Britain, it feels like bosses have been extra keen to make this camp seem a happy place where people get on.

ITV can’t choose precisely what happens in the jungle but have encouraged fun conversations. And any rows or disagreements – such as between Nick Knowles and Noel Edmonds on evolution – have been removed and left on the cutting room floor.

It certainly seemed the nicest camp ever, with the fewest clashes. Going into the final tonight we have already had a queen and king of the jungle revealed.

No one had given Holly Willoughby much hope that she would be very good alongside Dec.

The pair were friends but had never fronted a show together. There were fears Holly could ruin the series and the pair would lack chemistry. But if anything she has freshened things up, made Dec even funnier as he has got even more jokes – and the biggest compliment of all is that no one’s talking of Ant.

Holly is happy, so were the campmates and the Harry Redknapp love story with Sandra made sure viewers were too. Five stars out of five for this year’s camp.
