Kate’s brother reveals battle with depression

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

THE Duchess of Cambridge’s brother has told how he was floored by depression.

James Middleton says he’s been inspired to speak

out because of the good work Kate and Prince William have done with their Head Together mental health campaign.

The 31-year-old businessman reveals he got so low even family and close friends were unable to help him. “Debilitating inertia gripped me and sleep eluded me,” says James, who was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. “I couldn’t communicate, even with those I loved best.” Now he has weekly sessions with a psychiatrist.

“I am pleased I went through depression because I now have the skills to fight it,” he says. “I’m a more confident person than I was before.

“It feels as if a great weight has been lifted. And I feel I have a duty to speak out so I can help others who are suffering.”
