SUITS TO SOUKS
Harry and Meghan land in Morocco to meet the King
PRINCE Harry and Meghan launched a charm offensive on Morocco’s royal family last night after landing in Casablanca.
The eight months pregnant Duchess of Sussex was stunning in red as she was welcomed by a guard of honour to kick off the four-day tour of the North African Kingdom.
The former Suits star and her husband were due to meet 15-yearold Crown Prince, Moulay Hassan – one of the world’s richest teenagers.
He was rumoured to have been given a £52million Gulfstream G650 VIP jet by his father the King, although officials slammed the reports as “propaganda”. Today Harry and Meghan are due to meet the King, who is embroiled in controversy over his rumoured divorce from his wife Princess Lalla Salma, the first for a Moroccan King.
The Princess had not been seen in public since 2017, and is rumoured to be living in exile in the US.
INCREDIBLE
Harry and Meghan are staying as “honoured guests of the King” at one of the royal palaces until Tuesday.
The UK royals are increasingly being seen as an effective “soft diplomacy” brand to promote Britain abroad, post Brexit, and Africa is seen as having “incredible potential”.
The capital Rabat, where Harry and Meghan will spend this evening and tomorrow, has been marred by ugly anti-government protests.
British security services demanded extra resources to protect the royals ahead of their visit and requested strict assurances on their safety.
Meghan’s trip follows her luxury New York baby shower with a string of A-list celebrities celebrating the impending birth of her first child, due at the end of next month.
The Duchess will spend today in the Atlas mountains celebrating UK entrepreneur Michael McHugo’s education project for young women.
The Palace said medical provisions have been made for Meghan.
