Wedding pain as thugs nab camera gear
Bride & groom heartbroken by theft
NEWLYWEDS have been left crushed after their photographer’s camera was stolen on their big day.
Jamie and Sharon Hill tied the knot at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast city centre on Thursday.
But when they went to do their photographs on the steps outside the venue, thieves stole one of the cameras.
Now they are appealing for the culprits to return it so they can view the professional pictures.
Jamie, from Co Antrim, said: “After the ceremony we went outside to the front steps for photos, our photographer used one camera for most of the inside shots and was using another camera for outside.
“He set the inside camera down, a Nikon D3 and a 80mm 1.8 lens, and you can imagine trying to organise different groups of people and he went inside briefly and went back and the inside camera was gone.”
Dad-of-three Jamie said it was very upsetting for the couple, who live in Larne, but he was even more annoyed for the photographer whose equipment was taken.
The 45-year-old added: “They don’t think of it that way, they just see the value of it.
“Please return the camera and if not please return the memory card, we would offer a cash reward.
“It has put a dampner on the day, Sharon was devastated as he spent a lot of time with her when she was getting ready.” A PSNI spokeswoman said: “Police received a third-party report of the theft of a camera from the Waring Street area on Thursday after 4.30pm.”
Please give back the camera or at least the memory card
